In this paper, we investigated the mechanisms promoting the extended lung retention of PEG-rhDNase conjugates using cell culture models and lung biological media. Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) measurements were used to investigate the mobility and interaction of PEGylated rhDNase and dextrans in porcine mucus in vitro.
